I feel the movie missed the mark because of changes to the personalities of the characters. I don't know if that is a writing or directing decision, but the contrast of childishness and awesome power of Aang, and the well placed humor that is placed seamlessly throughout the episodes, is what makes the film a winner for my family (me and my wife -46) and my daughters 11, 16, 18. We all really enjoyed watching the full series on Neflix during the Christmas holiday. I liked the cartoon so much.
